Who we are
EatSee is an app for iPhone and Android that helps you eat mindfully without weighing every ingredient. Add a meal with a photo, a sentence, or a barcode, and the Plan tab will create meals tailored to your calorie and protein goals. EatSee was created in Poland, with Polish cuisine and products from Polish stores in mind, and is also available in 13 other languages. You can read about all the features on our calorie tracking app page.
We want calorie tracking to be simple and not take the joy out of eating: no copying out tables, no fad diets, and no judgment for having pizza on a Friday.

Editorial standards
The EatSee team is responsible for the content on eatsee.pl. Our articles, calorie chart, calculators, and meal plans follow the same standards:
- Trusted sources. We rely on recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the National Center for Nutrition Education (NCEZ), as well as food composition tables. In our articles, we link only to official sources.
- No made-up information. We don’t cite research, statistics, or experts that can’t be verified. When sources differ or a value depends on the variety or preparation method, we say so clearly.
- The numbers add up. Calories match the macronutrients (4 kcal per gram of protein and carbs, 9 kcal per gram of fat), and we label values as “approx.” because they are always estimates.
- Safety without extremes. We don’t recommend diets below 1200 kcal, fasting, “detoxes,” or losing more than about 1 kg per week. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have an eating disorder, we recommend speaking with a doctor or dietitian.
- No shaming. We write in a friendly, direct way, without scare tactics or promises like “you’ll lose 10 kg in a month.”
- No ads for other products. We don’t recommend food brands or miracle supplements, and we don’t write about other apps.
- Honest about EatSee. We clearly explain what’s free in the app and what’s included in Premium, and we don’t promise gram-level accuracy. Results from photos are estimates that you can adjust.
How we create and review content
- Articles are created with the help of AI tools, following our editorial standards and based on recommendations from WHO, EFSA, and NCEZ, as well as data from our calorie chart. Before publication, each article goes through two automated review stages. First, code checks numbers, headings, and links—for example, whether calories match the macronutrients and every link leads to an existing page. Then a separate review looks for factual errors, advice that should come from a doctor, and language mistakes. Each article displays its publication date and most recent update.
- Calorie chart - a script transfers nutrition information from the USDA database, so no one has to enter it manually. Find out more on our Where our data comes from page.
- Meal plans - code calculates the calories and macros for every meal, day, and week based on ingredients listed in grams.
- Calculators - they use published formulas, such as Mifflin-St Jeor and the US Navy method. Each calculator explains how it works.
